Firstly, I would like to apologize for the lack of entries since Thanksgiving. I have been keeping busy lately, what with the end of the quarter and all. I met my host family which are indeed adorable and very friendly. (It turns out I was right about the so-called 'little' children. The youngest of them is a week older than I am, the other is 26...) I was also busy taking finals and saying goodbye to all my fellow Americans who have headed back to the states. As a result of the mass exodus, my room has turned into a sort of Goodwill Donation Center - everyone who is leaving has been dumping their unwanted stuff on the five of us who are staying for the rest of the year. It is thus that I have ended up with: a toaster (yes!), cooking utensils that I do not know how to safely operate, sooooo much food that I don't know how to cook, and even some clothes. It's nice to inherit all these goodies, but it is sad to see everyone go.
Secondly, I would like to apologize in advance for not writing an entry for at least 3 weeks. I am going to be traveling around a lot during my winter break here in Europe which, by the way, lasts for FIVE WHOLE WEEKS. Not only does French school have a longer break, but way better options as far as activities go.
Which brings me to the main purpose of this entry: I want to keep people updated as to where I'm going to be, so that even though I'm not writing, some people (Peter!) won't be as bothered by my e-absence. During this break, I will be going to Munich, Berlin, London and Dublin.
December 16th:to Munich!
-Train to Paris
-Flight to Munich at... some time.
December 19th: MY 21ST BIRTHDAY!
December 21st: (My friend Mikel's birthday)
-Train from Munich to Berlin (part ways with Ariel)
-Meet Ciara in Berlin
December 25: Christmas, duh.
December 26th:
-Flight to London
December 31st: NEW YEAR'S EVE!
-My friend Sydney is going to be in London as well, so it will be fun to celebrate with her. However, our particular hostel was booked for this night, so Ciara and I are just not planning on sleeping.
-Also sometime in London, we are planning on seeing the musicals "The Lion King" and "Avenue Q", the Twilight movie, and possibly Eddy Izzard's live show.
January 3:
-Flight to Dublin
January 5: MIGHTY. BOOSH. LIVE. (can't even describe how excited I am.)
January 6:
-Return to Nantes
So, I hope that everyone has a great Winter Break and a wonderful holiday season, whatever it is that you may celebrate. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, whatever have you, and have a very happy New Year! When I return from my 3 week rampage through Europe, I will have thousands of pictures to show and stories to tell, so brace yourself for my return!
